I am a Master's candidate in the Department of English at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
I became particularly interested in the concept of map-as-archive after encountering a number of different conceptions of the online map within the Digital Humanities community.
As I am very interested in both contemporary literature and the city I call home, I decided to apply my newfound interest in digital literature mapping to contemporary District-based texts, starting with The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears by Dinaw Mengestu.

This project is very much under construction, but comments and suggestions for further exploration are embraced and welcomed. I can be found @emily_f_miller on Twitter, and at efmiller@gwu.edu by email.
